Iris Birth Collective came about after I went through miscarrying our first baby and then getting pregnant with our rainbow baby. Iris means "rainbow" in Greek, which is my family lineage. When thinking about what to name my birth business, it felt like the best way to honor such an influential season and reason why I decided to pursue birth work.
Hi, I'm Aimee! Certified Doula (DONA)
I'm a wife, mother to an angel baby and one earth side baby, social worker, doula and motherhood photographer serving Rochester, MN. I love all things health and wellness, including crossfit, nutrition, and womens health. In my free time I also love being creative through paining and drawing.
I completed my doula training training in January of 2024 and am certified through DONA International. I added birth/motherhood photography to my offerings later that year and it has really added a creative piece I felt was missing from my role in this work!
I have attended births at Mayo Clinic, Olmsted Medical Center and in the home birth setting.
Birth is one of the most profound and influential experiences in life. I believe that birth can be beautiful, empowering and blissful. Your experience does not need to look how society often depicts it to be. I am here to empower you in making informed decisions for you and your baby and having the best labor, birth and postpartum possible!
Birth Worker since 2024.
Serving Rochester, MN + Sorrounding Areas
This is your birth, and I'm here to support the birth that you desire by collaborating with you. When you hire me we're going to take the time to talk about how you want birth to feel and work through any fears that may be coming up. My hope is that I can help provide evidence-based information so that you can make informed decisions for you and your baby that you feel confident in. Birth experiences truly do impact families for years down the road and feeling supported and empowered through the experience can make all the difference!
My clients would describe me as a steady and calming presence. I am encouraging and flexible in the way I support women through labor and birth because every single person is going to need something slightly different. I am passionate about allowing birth to be undisturbed when appropriate, trusting your intuition and I value the right to an autonomous and informed birth.
The medical system has had significant impacts on marginalized families and I am continuing learn more about this. I am currently participating in a workgroup through Cradle 2 Career to get doula support accessible to more people in our community, specifically families impacted by racial bias and/or income limitations. My goal is to be covered by Minnesota Medicaid by end of 2025 so that I can broaden my services to those who may only be able to utilize doula services when covered by insurance.
